Step into a legacy of leadership and natural beauty. Once the home of Lieutenant General Samuel V. Wilson—a pioneer of U.S. Special Operations, former Director of the DIA, and President of Hampden-Sydney College—this historic estate is a rare opportunity to own a piece of history. Set on 100.75 acres of mature woods with a network of trails, the property is a sanctuary for those yearning to reconnect with the earth.
The 7-bedroom, 5-bath home overlooks a serene private lake and is designed for versatility, featuring three kitchens and a basement with two full apartments. It seamlessly blends heritage with modern sustainability, offering a 20 kW solar system with battery storage, a Tesla EV charger, and a dedicated fresh water storage system. Homesteaders will love the underground greenhouse, organic gardens, chicken coop, outbuildings, and a traditional outdoor canning stove.
Perfect as a multi-generational family homestead, high-end retreat center, or lucrative short-term rental, this estate invites you to slow down and breathe. If you are looking to get back to nature in a place of true distinction, this is the place.
